The dropping point refers to the low temperature at which it reaches a certain fluidity under specified conditions, expressed in °C (in degrees Celsius). The dropping point is the temperature at which the grease changes from a semi-solid to a liquid state under standard conditions. For grease, heating under specified conditions, the grease will soften with the increase in temperature, the temperature when a drop from the grease cup of the instrument or a column touches the bottom of the test tube (the temperature point from solid to liquid), It is called the dropping point of grease. The dropping point of grease is to investigate the grease-forming ability of the grease at high temperature. The dropping point has no physical meaning, and its value varies with equipment and heating rate.
The softening point is the temperature at which a substance softens. Mainly refers to the temperature at which the amorphous polymer starts to soften. It is not only related to the structure of the polymer, but also related to the size of its molecular weight. It refers to the condition temperature at which the asphalt reaches a certain viscosity under a specific experimental condition.

Installation of Dropping Point And Softening Point Measuring Instrument

1. Connect the temperature program control unit and the detection unit with the instrument accessory connection cable. When connecting, insert and fasten it in the direction of the socket notch. Plug in the power cord , that is, the installation is complete

2. Check the initial temperature setting function: turn on the power, the upper part of the instrument display shows the current temperature of the softening furnace, and the right side of the lower part of the display shows the set value of the initial temperature and the heating rate. Press the "ENTER" button, the softening furnace starts to heat up, and after a few minutes, the temperature of the softening furnace is stably maintained near the set value (within ±1°C). The method to set the starting temperature or heating rate is to press the "preset" button to set the starting temperature, and then press the "preset" button to set the heating rate, which can be switched back and forth with the "preset" button. At this time, use the "△" and "V" keys to modify the set value. When setting the initial temperature, if you hold down the "△" and "マ" keys, the set value will change rapidly. After the set value is determined, press the "ENTER" button, the softening furnace will rise and fall to the initial temperature set value.

3. At any heating rate, press the "heat up" button, the temperature indication on the upper part of the display screen rises linearly, indicating that the temperature program control unit is functioning normally.

4. If the accessory sample loading rod or chopsticks are inserted into the center hole of the electric heating furnace, D appears on the upper left of the display, indicating that the instrument's detection function is normal. If this test is carried out during the linear heating process, it will display "Measurement result XXX.X℃", press "ENTER" to release the lock state

5.Finally check the function of the sample loading component: install the five slit sleeves and handles on the five fat cups respectively, insert them into the center hole of the detection furnace, and press down while rotating, so that the gap of the slit sleeve is in the furnace The positioning is consistent with each other. During the insertion process, there should be a D display on the upper left of the display screen, but after the component is inserted, the D display should be automatically eliminated. If it does not meet the above conditions, it means that the sample components have not been installed, or the factory size does not meet the requirements, and the five sets of components should be checked one by one.
